La crisis económica causada por el despilfarro, la corrupción y la pésima gestión del gobierno anterior, genera problemas en la población. Sesenta de cada cien ecuatorianos no tienen empleo adecuado. La Comisión Nacional Anticorrupción estimó en 35 mil millones de dólares el perjuicio por corrupción en la década del lleve. La deuda pública según analistas es de $66 mil millones, mientras la Cámara de Comercio de Quito, agregando otros rubros la sitúa en $90 mil millones. Este gobierno sigue aumentando la deuda.

Ante esta delicada situación el Presidente anuncia un ¨programa económico¨. Por ello las organizaciones sociales levantan la consigna: Que la crisis la paguen los nuevos ricos de AP. No el pueblo!

Se plantean propuestas alternativas al Presidente, para que no perjudique el bolsillo del pueblo ecuatoriano y evite una mayor conflictividad social.

- Reducir el IVA al 10% para dinamizar la economía.
- Renegociar los contratos petroleros, recuperando más de 2 mil millones de dólares.
- Renegociar la deuda externa previo a una auditoría.
- Poner un tope salarial de 3 mil dólares a cerca de 38.000 funcionarios del Estado del nivel jerárquico superior que hoy ganan más de $3 mil mensuales; esto ahorrará cerca de $600 millones al año.
- Que el SRI cobre por la evasión tributaria a 215 grupos económicos beneficiarios del correísmo. Ej. Andes Petroleum (cerca de $500 millones). En total con esta medida se recuperaría más de $2 mil millones.
- Recuperar el dinero de la corrupción.
- Reducir ministerios y vender los bienes a cargo de Inmobiliar.
- Mientras el ecuatoriano común paga el 22% de sus ingresos en impuestos, los grandes grupos económicos pagan solo el 2% de sus ingresos. (Fuente Banco Central 2014). Se debe corregir esta injusticia.

El dinero recuperado debe servir para solucionar la crisis generando empleo productivo, emprendimientos, etc., mediante la entrega de créditos a baja tasa de interés (menos del 5% y a largo plazo). Además se deben reformar varias leyes para recuperar derechos en materia de educación, salud, libre asociación, naturaleza, protesta, libertad de expresión, seguridad social, entre otros.
