Es el nombre del Festival de Internacional de Teatro que se desarrolló del 22 al 29 de marzo en la parroquia de Calderón, en la ciudad de Quito. Grupos teatrales de Colombia Perú y Ecuador, desplegaron todo su talento artístico, demostraron las posibilidades pedagógicas de este arte en sendos talleres y presentaciones en instituciones educativas y en varios barrios donde deleitaron con sus obras a niños jóvenes y adultos.

El Centro Cultural la Matraka, que funciona en la parroquia de Calderón, dirigida por el maestro Luis Martínez y la Unión de Artistas Populares del Ecuador (UNAPE), tuvieron la iniciativa de este evento orientado a llevar el arte a los sectores populares y que contó con el respaldo del Instituto de Fomento de las Artes, Innovación y la Creatividad (IFAIC), que realizó la convocatoria pública nacional para proyectos artísticos culturales 2017-2018.

El propósito del proyecto es fomentar el interés por las artes escénicas como una herramienta para generar inquietudes, desarrollar un pensamiento cuestionador, crítico y propositivo en los niños y jóvenes, que además puedan ocupar su tiempo libre en actividades artísticas que desarrollen el crecimiento personal.

Las presentaciones tuvieron buena acogida en varias instituciones educativas y en algunos barrios, donde la magia de los artistas entusiasmó a grandes y chicos.
