En la Facultad de Filosofía de la Universidad Central del Ecuador (UCE) se desarrolló la inauguración de la X Convención Nacional del Frente Unitario de Trabajadores (FUT). El encuentro contó con la participación de diversas organizaciones como: Unidad Nacional de Educadores (UNE), Frente Popular, Confederación Ecuatoriana de Organizaciones Sindicales Libres (CEOSL), Central Única de Trabajadores Azucareros de Ecuador, entre otros. El objetivo fue tratar temas sobre la eliminación del subsidio al combustible, Economía de País, los derechos laborales y seguridad social.

En la convención se realizaron diversas mesas de trabajo correspondientes a los puntos a presentar. Representantes de la CEOSL mencionaron que: “es importante analizar el modelo económico en el que estamos atrapados los ecuatorianos, por eso es importante movilizarnos para exigir que este gobierno no sea cómplice del correismo”. De la misma forma se presentaron aspectos sobre los derechos laborales donde diversos representantes de distintos gremios dieron a conocer sus exigencias, “Exigimos el respeto al código de trabajo, también se debe luchar por fortalecer nuestras organizaciones y de la misma forma organizarnos para exigir nuestros derechos como trabajadores”.

Seguridad social fue otro tema a tratar, el mismo fue intervenido por organizaciones que proclamaban sus conclusiones,” Nosotros no debemos permitir que se exijan más años para poder jubilarse, hay que rechazar las leyes que impone el gobierno, al igual debemos oponernos a la privatización de IESS”.

Posteriormente se realizará un Foro abierto donde se expondrán todas las ideas recogidas en las mesas de trabajo, de la misma manera se expondrá una posible movilización en contra de la eliminación de los subsidios a los combustibles.
